Me & My Music
I am an independent artist presently promoting my CD "Small Acts of
Treason". It is a collection of original contemporary folk music that has
been compared to ..."the storytelling of John Prine but from a
woman's point of view" by folk recording artist, Amy Fradon.
"Her songs are an eclectic blend that you'll really enjoy!" says
Kate Straight of WRPI in Troy, New York.
"She has an exquisite voice", boasts David Malachowski, previous
band leader for Shania Twain.
This CD features guest performances by producer, guitarist, and songwriter
John Plantania, probably best known for his work as guitarist for Van Morrison,
and also drummer Brian Doherty of "They Might Be Giants", as well as a
host of other well-known musicians.
Formally Tarryn spent five years under the tutelage of mezzo-soprano,
Frances Pallozzi-Wittmann, formerly of the New York City Opera Company, studying
classical Voice. I have preformed many styles of music in the past, but
folk is where my heart is. It is whit I think , what I breathe and what I
am.
During the 1999-2001 holiday seasons, I was honored as the featured artist
for both the Albany and Saratoga Springs New Years' Eve First Night
celebrations. I also was invited to perform as part of
"Songwriters-in-the-Round" at the Joyous Lake in Woodstock, New York,
alternating songs with noted performers Kurt Henry, Too Human (Ellen Schwartz
and Roger Bruno), and Frank Carillo.
Other Performances of note include several appearances at Capital Repertory
Theatre's opening night festivities, and an appearance on "Sounding
Board".
Most recently, I had the opportunity to share the stage at Caffe Lena's in
Saratoga Springs, with Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, recent winners of the
prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival's songwriters contest. Very
cool! Thank You to everyone ch3ecking out this website and my music.
Enjoy!
